The Kalahari
After being closed since Namibia gained independence in 1990, the Mata Mata gate in the Kalahari on Namibia’s eastern border, leading via Sendelingsdrift on the South African side into the Kalahari Gemsbok Park in South Africa, was opened in 2007. These two border posts are part of the coast-to-coast transfrontier tourist route being developed for the 2010 Soccer World Cup event staged in South Africa. read more >

Tours in the Sperrgebiet

Bogenfels, the 55 m-high rock arch which juts into the Atlantic Ocean,

Hardap Recreation Resort
While the attraction of the Hardap Recreation Resort as a tourist destination might pale somewhat in comparison to Etosha, Waterberg and Sossusvlei, it is one of Namibia’s oldest and most extensive resorts and has much to offer in terms of recreation. It is surrounded by a game park, and has a bird sanctuary where aquatic birds such as African fish eagles, white pelicans and African spoonbills are seen. read more >
