Otjiwarongo
The town of Otjiwarongo, a Herero word meaning ‘a good place’, is an important centre for cattle ranching.

Outjo
Located amidst a cluster of low hills is the town of Outjo, an important cattle-ranching centre. In September 2006 the well-known Leather Tannery of Swakopmund, which closed down in the coastal town in 2004, was reopened in brand-new premises built on the northern outskirts of the town.
