Where to stay in Windhoek

Harnas Wildlife Foundation
This amazing animal sanctuary is situated approximately 300 kilometres east of Windhoek, near the town of Gobabis. Harnas Wildlife Foundation and Guestfarm is one of the few wildlife orphanages and welfare centres in Southern Africa. The foundation focuses on the rehabilitation of neglected, abused and abandoned wild animals.
The guest farm offers two luxury cottages, one luxury family cottage and three standard igloos. All rooms have a shower, toilet and barbecue facility. If you prefer camping, Harnas offers four campsites.
View how we feed the animals on our morning feeding tour by taking a drive to our large enclosure – the animals include lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and baboon. The afternoon feeding tour consists of a walk around enclosures at the house area – the animals include cheetah, baboon, caracal, suricate, tortoises, porcupine and birds. Other activities include horse riding. Teambuilding can also be arranged. Harnas Wildlife Foundation runs a number of programmes, including the African Wild Dog Project, the Rehabilitation and Re-introduction Project and the Cheeky Cheetah Day Care Centre.
